Kaiser Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Kaiser is the German word for "emperor". Like the Bulgarian, Serbian, and Russian word Tsar, it is directly derived from the Roman emperors' title of Caesar, which in turn is derived from the personal name of the Julii Caesares, a branch of the gens (clan) Julia, to which Gaius Julius Caesar, the forebear of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, belonged. In general the German title was only used for rul...

Fed Up says

"Kaiser sucks. It is such a hassle to fill prescriptions now. It took a week the last two times I had to refill. Have to get Doctor\'s approval (at least one day delay), now it is out of stock (another day delay). Now they do not carry it anymore. There is a substitute. Need Dr. Authorization again (another day delay). One more day to get it in stock. Such a hassle. "

LVN (Former Employee) says

"The rampant nepotism and blantant disrespect is energy consuming and spirit breaking. I thank God often for the new opportunities I’ve been blessed with which I would’ve overlooked had I stayed here. Cons: Staying too long"

Physician (Former Employee) says

"Worked here for 3 years, lots of back stabbing and people passing on the buck. People here will throw others under the bus rather quickly. They are always understaffed. Horrible patient care."

Buyer (Former Employee) says

"Work felt cold because of co-workers. Dog eat dog environment. No support system in place. Management was not supportive. No one cared to help train me properly. Micro managing and no training check list to help new employees. Breaks were being monitored by co-workers on my time, but they were taking more time for their breaks. Parking sucked. Cons: Bad work environment"

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"This company is the worst that I have ever worked at. They are full of lies and will treat you like your not human. They won’t hire you on permanently and will keep making up a bunch of lies and excuses to keep from hiring you on while training you for another position but NEVER pay you for the new position. They act like you are not supposed to get sick or things can’t happen that is out of Your control. The manager over the temps is a joke and has a very smart mouth and nasty attitude and should be fired in my opinion. They make you take several unnecessary tests and if you fail you get fired. They always talk about accountability but they don't do the same. They are ridiculous when it comes to QA and nothing you do is ever good enough for them. I would never recommend this job or place to anyone looking for a job. They also love to talk about how there is an open door policy but as soon as you try to speak up for yourself you get fired. I see why there is a high turnover rate and they stopped hiring on directly and is using temps Cons: Management, Pay"

Copywriter (Former Employee) says

"The chief lost his s&*t at every staff meeting, calling people out before their peers and subordinates. This led to a climate of intense fear. Cons: Would not give me (or any contractor) health insurance. Ironic much?"

Middle Management (Current Employee) says

"It’s the worst healthcare system I have worked for. I have NEVER worked with the number of uneducated, lazy, non-caring healthcare providers as I did at this healthcare system. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few great healthcare providers there (MDs, RNs, RTs), that do make a difference in the care that they provide the patients they come in contact with, but that’s probably 10% of the staff; everyone else, is just coming to work to get paid. Cons: Several"

Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT II (Former Employee) says

"I often heard my colleague reminded me and whispered by my ears such as " watch out for your back" and "do not trust anyone". Writing ups are abundant to keep negative records against YOU!! Cons: No job opportunity if you do not play politics or kiss b***"

Dental Assistant (Former Employee) says

"They do not uphold the union contract. You do not get breaks or lunch breaks on time. You are not often offered help. Manager and supervisor are never in office. Providers are very rude and do not appreciate the help you give. Cons: Everything"

MRI Technologist (Former Employee) says

"Only work her if you have a second job with benefits. Kaiser's cheap benefits may be enticing but don't let that fool you. Your time will be spent going from appt to appt only to accomplish nothing. Rules change from location to location. They're just making it up as they go along instead of going by the California Kaiser's policies. Their Union is a joke. If you join it, don't count on them backing you up if there's a problem. Management will backstab you in a heartbeat. Cons: Too many to list"

Transplant Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"Beware of this job- there are no guidelines, policies and procedures, job description, or flow of work. Everything is chaotic; no flow or objectives. Cons: see above"

Senior Project Manager (Former Employee) says

"Some employees have great experiences and others do not. I have colleagues whose managers were supportive and encouraging, they love the company and their jobs. I personally enjoyed 10 years if growth and success because I worked with outstanding leaders. In my last 3 positions (covering a span of 10 years), I had awful managers who showed preference to employees who shared their ethnicity or who were younger (employees in their 20's or 30's who were more impressionable and worshipped the manager)."

Nursing Administration Manager (Former Employee) says

"You work over 40 hours a week for exempt pay. If you get into a job there is no training. The doctors think they own the company and treat people not well. Your concerns will be noted but never resolved. Kaiser has no concern for life/work balance. Cons: You will give up your life for this company."

Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) says

"Horrible working bad experience in Outpatient pharmacy with management team. No follow Compliance rules and regulations. Lots of harassment and multiple tasks in one hours. Managers are very lazy and always stay in the office instead of helping employees needs and patients needs. Lots of discrimination races and allow to work all family members, relatives, relationships working together and create lots of drama."

Randstad Temp (Former Employee) says

"Terrible place to work blatant favouritism not a professional work place typical call center drama. No room for error very demanding entry level posistion Cons: Can't miss any day or be late for at lest 9 months"

Licensed Vocational Nurse (Temporary) says

"I worked as a temporary LVN for the flu clinic. We were worked to the bone for long hours without taking breaks. Management is not concerned for employee safety. Frequent scheduling changes to suit their needs for the holiday led to cancelled hotels and airfare which, of course, were non-refundable due to the fact that such short notice was given to us regarding the schedule. We were all laid off when we were no longer needed. Do yourself a favor and try the other leading hospitals first."

Scheduling and Decision Center Service Associate (Current Employee) says

"great company, just be ready to be very, very, very patient. management is good and bad...depending on where you are and who you are under. And the transformation committee well....we will see what they end up doing."

Nurse (Current Employee) says

"Management is in a lot of pressure to meet goal, feel harass to perform. Majority of staff are unhappy. They are there because they need jobs otherwise will prefer to get a better work environment"

Operations Specialist (Current Employee) says

"Human Resources and National Human Resources do not support employees if they are not in a union. If an employee has a higher education than the leader, you're a target for termination for no reason. Again, if your job is not union, you have no chance for a fair employment with Kaiser."

Appointment Clerk (Former Employee) says

"worked her and worked over 90 hours in every pay period got sick and called out had doctors note to return and was fired for calling out I was told that the doctors notes mean nothing to them they didn't care and I was let go and when terminated they took over a month to give me a copy of the termination paper work Cons: if your one minute late from a break they will count that against you"

MCRC Senior Consultant (Former Employee) says

"Few important things I want to mention: Management is MEAN, Treat you like a SLAVE and DO NOT appreciate your hardwork. KP benefits are great, but if you are hired and are opinionated, oh boi !!! Management will make sure You "Quit". They do not fire you but make your life so miserable that you will leave. This happened to me and 2 other very close friends who left for good. Save yourself, your health and find another job in another department. ENTER THIS DEPARTMENT AT YOUR OWN RISK. MCRC Complex case unit director is straight biased and will discriminate you for your ethnicity. Good Luck !! I am so glad I don't work with them anymore and thought of at least reviewing the department."

Current Employee - Director says

"I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than a year Cons: I don’t understand how an employer in 2021 doesn’t offer ANY parental leave (at least in the health plan). Employees are expected to cobble together time off based on PTO, disability, etc. I’m shocked that this place can be so unfriendly to working parents. Other payers offer 4 weeks, typically. And health systems are often at that same benchmark too. The other major con for people who are new (but also a pro, I guess) is that benefits are entirely based on tenure. So if you are new to KP, you don’t benefit much on 401K/the pension, etc. but once you’ve been here 5+ years, you have very strong reasons to stay. What that means on practice is that culture isn’t very dynamic or change-oriented. Things move slowly and that’s largely because every single person who has been at KP has been there for so long and is stuck on their ways."

Current Employee - Member Service Representative says

"I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than a year Cons: They don't actually care about the patients. If you follow the QA "script" (which they say is not a script) and are always on time you're a good employee."

Current Employee - Registered Nurse, BSN says

"I have been working at Kaiser Permanente part-time for more than 3 years Cons: There is no respect for human life here. Stay away from this place. Worst place ever to work. Magement is aweful."

Current Employee - Team Leader says

"I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 3 years Cons: No career growth. You have to brown nose the right people to get promoted. They under pay and expect you to work 3 levels above your salary grade. As an office worker, you are expected to work more than 12 hours a day and be on call weekends and while you are on vacation."

Former Employee - Intern Pharmacist says

"I worked at Kaiser Permanente part-time Cons: Stressful environment to work in"

Current Employee - Customer Service Representative says

"I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 3 years Cons: I have never been part of a company who could care less about its employees."

Former Employee - Customer Care Representative says

"I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Stressful environment. Lack of assistance. High expectations for very minimal training. Unorganized. Unprofessional management."

Former Employee - Patient Access Representative says

"I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time for less than a year Cons: it was managed horribly, i barely felt like a person"

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative says

"I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time Cons: stressful, hard, unmanageable, micromanaged and"

Pablo says

"Disgusting ,, they make medicine unethical"

Laboo says

"Incompetence and stupidity is institutionalized at Kaiser. It's never their fault, they don't care about the member, you can never see a PCP in a reasonable amount of time, you can't get the same or right answer twice and they screw with your billing. All the while pointing the finger at the member and making excuses for their mistakes. If you want good health care. Do not use Kaiser."

Laboo says

"I have had Kaiser for 10 years and over the last 3 years they have gone from good to the worst. You can never get through the call tree without being transferred 4 times and hung up on twice. Ask a question? Expect 2 or 3 different answers from as many reps. Appointments? Be prepared to wait a month for a simple doctor appointment with YOUR PCP. Administration? What a joke. I sent in paperwork to change my plan, and over the open enrollment month I spoke to 4 different reps who told me not to worry it was all ok. Guess What? They totally dropped my membership all together, even after reassuring me I was good to go. I need maintenance medications for blood clots and stroke as well as maintenance Labs. So at this point I have nothing and risk a medical situation that could cost me my life. Right now they have a premium payment for the coverage I was supposed to have, so where is my money? They don't know. I have anxiety every time I have to contact Kaiser. I have paperwork to prove my allegations as well. I suggest using another health care provider altogether if you want to stay alive."

Something Special says

"Giant mess to call the call center. Very difficult to make appointments. My doctors appointments are 2 months out. Don't come here. Go to acupuncture they'll heal you. This place does not care about you. Watch sicko by michael moore it's a shame that big pharma, insurance companies, and venture capitalist has made america a giant scam country. They're there to keep you sick and be predators of your money until you die. Suffering debt and pain."

c mier says

"cant get a covid test to return to work. need a app. and none are availible. worst medical provider ever. they dont care about anybody just bottom line. Hate Kaiser!!!!!!!!!"
